Amman:The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has confirmed the deployment of its field crews and machinery across various districts of the capital to address the impact of the ongoing weather depression affecting the Kingdom.
According to Jordan News Agency, Amman experienced significant heavy rainfall over a short period, which resulted in soil erosion and sediment buildup in multiple areas. In response, GAM's specialized teams have been actively clearing debris, unblocking storm drains, and ensuring smooth traffic flow throughout the city.
GAM has announced that its field units are operating under its emergency response plan, maintaining continuous coordination through central operations rooms to address citizen reports and mitigate risks of flash flooding. The municipality has also urged residents to exercise caution during the heavy rains, advising them to avoid low-lying areas and valley streams, and to report any emergencies via its unified contact center hotline (102).
