Mafraq:Minister of Youth Raed Adwan conducted a comprehensive inspection of youth and sports facilities throughout the Mafraq Governorate. The purpose of the tour was to evaluate current operations and assess infrastructure needs.
According to Jordan News Agency, Adwan initiated his visit at the Ruwaished Youth Center, where he urged officials to accelerate maintenance of the sports field. He emphasized the importance of engaging with local youth, schools, and community members to develop customized training programs and create a database of local university graduates to work as certified trainers.
The ministry's strategic approach focuses on empowering youth in underserved areas by implementing train-the-trainer programs. This initiative aims to enable local youth to lead training activities at youth centers, with an emphasis on sports, cultural empowerment, civic engagement, and capacity building.
At the Safawi Youth Center, Adwan ordered maintenance work and the introduction of targeted training programs. During his visit to the Deir Al-Kahf Youth Center, he instructed staff to broaden program offerings, concentrating on English language and football training, which attract significant participation.
While at the Al-Bishriyya Youth Center, Adwan called for the extension of the English Language Enrichment Program, completion of field maintenance, and gym equipment updates. He also assessed the facilities at the Hamra Al-Suhaim Youth Center, discussing local needs with its director.
At the North-Eastern Badia Sports Complex in Umm Al-Quttain, Adwan directed officials to resurface the sports field, build sanitation units, player changing rooms, and set up a water pipeline. Similarly, at the Northern Badia Youth and Young Women Center, he ordered the provision of new furniture, the establishment of a computer lab, and sports field expansion.
Meeting with members of the Umm Al-Jimal Youth and Young Women Centers, he responded to youth requests by initiating training courses in drawing, computer skills, football, and chess, while also providing necessary sports gear and apparel.
Adwan concluded his tour by visiting the HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein Sports Complex, where he called for the fast-tracked rehabilitation of the stadium's pitch to benefit local sports clubs. He also reviewed ongoing maintenance at the Mafraq Youth Directorate and examined operational workflows and regional activity plans.
These field visits are part of a broader directive from the prime minister to revitalize youth centers, align programs with youth goals, and upgrade infrastructure across all governorates.
