Jordanian Delegation Advocates for Inclusivity at IPU Assembly

Hanoi:A parliamentary delegation from Jordan actively participated in the 153rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), focusing on topics of good governance, empowerment, and inclusivity.

According to Jordan News Agency, delegates Arwa Hajaya, Omar Khaldi, Huda Naffaa, and Samer Azaida attended key sessions of the assembly. During the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, Naffaa highlighted the growing political involvement of Jordanian women, which she attributed to national modernization efforts supported by the Hashemite leadership.

In a separate session on disability rights, Naffaa discussed Jordan's legislative progress in safeguarding the rights of persons with disabilities. She emphasized the importance of empowering women with disabilities as a fundamental aspect of justice and inclusion and called for global parliaments to enact domestic laws that ensure education, employment, and political participation for all.

Samer Azaida addressed the issue of digital violence in politics, noting the hostile nature of online spaces that deter women and youth from participating in public service. He proposed a strategy that combines legislative measures and technical solutions to curb digital abuse and promote equal political opportunities.
