Amman: The Jordanian Marathon Association (Run Jordan) announced the opening of registration for the first edition of the Madaba Mosaic Race 2026, with registration available at Madaba Municipality from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in addition to online registration through the association's official website and at its offices in Amman.
According to Jordan News Agency, the race will take place on Friday, July 31, under the patronage of HRH Prince Firas bin Raad, Chairman of the Jordanian Marathon Association's Board of Directors. The event brings together sports activities with the historical and tourism features of Madaba, known for its heritage sites.
The race includes two categories: 10 km and 5 km. The 10 km race will start from Mount Nebo, while the 5 km race will begin from the Faisaliah area. Both races will finish at the Madaba Visitors Centre.
The association said participants in the 10 km race will have free access to Mount Nebo on race day, provided they arrive at the site by 7:00 a.m. before the start of the race.
Run Jordan Director General Lina Al-Kurd said opening registration in Madaba aims to facilitate participation for residents of the governorate and runners interested in taking part from different areas. She noted that interest in the race reflects the growing participation in events that combine sports, culture and tourism.
Al-Kurd added that the first edition of the Madaba Mosaic Race is part of the association's efforts to expand the range of races held in Jordan and support sports tourism activities in the Kingdom.
