Amman: As part of its ongoing commitment to support the health sector and enhance quality of services provided to local communities, the Arab Potash Company (APC) announced it has awarded a tender for the construction of Badhan and Bardah Health Center in the southern Karak Governorate, at a total cost of approximately JD1.5 million.
According to Jordan News Agency, the project is fully funded by the company and falls under the APC's "integrated" corporate social responsibility program, which supports the health and education sectors. The tender was awarded by the APC's technical committee for health projects, which includes representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Health, and the company itself. This committee will oversee the project's implementation and monitor its various phases in accordance with the highest technical and engineering standards.
The new health center in the Badhan and Bardah areas will cover an area of approximately 856 square meters. The two-story facility will be "fully equipped" to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the residents of the area, aiming to enhance the level of medical care to meet current and future needs. Scheduled for completion in May 2027, the project will be overseen by the relevant technical committee to ensure its implementation aligns with the established timeline, thereby strengthening the health infrastructure in the Karak governorate.
In press remarks, Chairman of APC Board of Directors Shehadeh Abu Hudeib affirmed that the initiative represents a "new practical" step within the company's integrated program to support the health and education sectors. He noted that the company views funding health services as a "direct" investment in the Jordanian people and quality of life within local communities, especially in areas requiring more development and service projects.
Abu Hudeib added that this project is part of a program for which the company has allocated approximately JD30 million over three years to support the Kingdom's health and education sectors. This effort, he noted, is part of the company's contribution to national initiatives implemented by the government in partnership with private sector institutions, which aim to strengthen "institutionalizing" social responsibility and solidify its commitment to this cause. He emphasized the role of the private sector as a "key partner" in achieving sustainable community development.
