Amman: The Lower House Committee on Labor, Social Development, and Population, led by MP Andre Hawari, has approved the Draft Professional Work Regulation Law for 2026. The decision came during a session attended by Minister of Labor Dr. Nidal Qatamin.
According to Jordan News Agency, MP Hawari emphasized that the bill is a crucial step towards regulating the Kingdom's vocational work sector. It aims to enhance oversight and inspection processes for vocational training providers and practitioners. This initiative is expected to improve training efficiency, elevate the quality of vocational outputs, and align better with the needs of the labor market.
Hawari stressed the committee's commitment to thoroughly discussing the bill's various articles to achieve its intended objectives and reinforce the legislative framework governing the vocational work sector.
In his remarks, Minister Qatamin highlighted that the draft law seeks to establish a legislative framework for vocational and technical work. The law aims to foster a conducive work environment and regulate professional practices, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of training activities and meeting labor market requirements.
The draft law also aims to curtail unregulated practices by standardizing vocational and technical checks, issuing professional licenses, and licensing vocational and technical training service providers. Additionally, the regulation seeks to bolster partnerships with the Kingdom's private sector to update training standards in line with labor market demands.
