Irbid: The Industry Support and Development Fund has announced the allocation of £35 million to its "Leadership in Industry" programme. This initiative aims to bolster small and medium-sized industrial enterprises (SMEs) and enhance the sector's competitiveness throughout the Kingdom.
According to Jordan News Agency, Fund Director Mamoun Abu Shawar revealed during an introductory session at the Irbid Chamber of Industry that the programme's first phase will support 150 industrial establishments. A second phase will follow, assisting an additional 120 enterprises, ultimately benefiting a total of 270 SMEs.
The programme, funded by the German Development Bank (KfW), is set to finance up to 70 percent of project costs. Grants offered will range between JD25,000 and JD100,000. Abu Shawar emphasized that 40 percent of the funds will be directed towards projects in the governorates, aiming to foster innovation, sustainable growth, and job creation, with a particular focus on opportunities for women.
The application process for the programme will be conducted electronically, with comprehensive technical support and training provided to assist companies in completing their applications efficiently.
