Amman: Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi met with Spanish Ambassador to Jordan, Jos© Luis Pardo Cuerdo, to discuss boosting parliamentary relations between the two countries. The meeting focused on strengthening legislative ties to complement the existing political relationship and encourage deeper economic, investment, and developmental partnerships.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qadi emphasized the deep-rooted relations between Amman and Madrid, characterized by mutual respect and a shared commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors. He highlighted King Abdullah II's diplomatic efforts to mitigate tensions in the Middle East and promote a political solution based on the two-state framework, aiming for an independent Palestinian state.
The Spanish ambassador expressed Spain's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Jordan in several areas, acknowledging the robust relations and coordination between the two nations. He noted Spain's interest in expanding parliamentary, economic, and investment ties, and praised Jordan's leadership under King Abdullah II in fostering regional peace and stability. He also underscored the importance of working together to find political solutions to regional conflicts, particularly advocating for the Palestinian people's right to statehood.
