Amman:Jordan's inaugural national conference on parental well-being, quality of life, and family support systems concluded on Wednesday, highlighting the importance of parental well-being as a standalone priority.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) organized the two-day event in collaboration with the Van Leer Foundation. The conference saw participation from over 300 individuals and 35 international experts.
RHAS Director General Amal Ireifij emphasized that parental well-being is crucial not only for the growth and development of children but also for the future of societies and states. The conference aimed to strengthen cooperation among the public sector, private sector, and civil society organizations, and to create an integrated national system to support parents.
Ireifij also pointed out the significance of environmental and social factors affecting families, underlining the role that cities and public spaces play in facilitating daily life and reducing social isolation. She advocated for continued dialogue and the exchange of expertise among stakeholders, urging the development of policies and programs based on the conference outcomes.
The conference addressed three main areas emotional well-being and supportive care; supportive care environments and local systems; and innovation, systems thinking, and future policies.
