House Speaker Engages in Strategic Discussions with Omani, Emirati, and Iraqi Counterparts

Amman: Speaker of the Lower House Mazen Qadi held talks with the Chair of the Omani Shura Council, Khalid bin Hilal Maawali, the First Deputy Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council, Hamid Tayer, and the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Dulaimi, on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States. The meetings focused on strengthening parliamentary cooperation, exchanging expertise and enhancing coordination. The officials called for deepening ties between their respective legislative institutions to support broader bilateral relations.

According to Jordan News Agency, during his meeting with Maawali, Qadi highlighted the deep-rooted historical relations between Jordan and Oman, urging more parliamentary cooperation in support of shared interests. In talks with Tayer, Qadi discussed the Jordanian-Emirati relations and reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to advancing parliamentary collaboration and further developing ties. Meeting with Dulaimi, Qadi said that Jordan is committed to enhancing parliamentary cooperation with Iraq and underscored the importance of continued consultation and coordination on issues of common concern.

Meanwhile, Jordanian parliamentarians participated in the conference's specialised committee meetings covering Palestine, Muslim minorities and communities, cultural and legal affairs, economic and environmental issues and human rights, women and family affairs. The conference also saw the election of several Jordanian representatives to standing committees of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, including Hussein Krishan, Mohammed Bani Melhem, and Nimer Al-Sulaihat, as well as Senator Ghazi Sarhan.
