Jerash: The Jordan Valley Authority and the Agricultural Materials Traders and Producers Association have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in supporting the agricultural sector, improving the investment climate, and enhancing the management of water resources in the Jordan Valley.
According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement was signed by Secretary-General of the Authority, Hisham Hayisa, and Association President, Saleh Yassin, in the presence of officials and stakeholders. Hayisa said the agreement reflects ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation with the private sector and promote agricultural investment. He emphasized the importance of improving water-use efficiency and adopting modern irrigation and production technologies to ensure sustainability and better serve farmers and investors.
He added that the Authority is working to develop an attractive investment environment in the Jordan Valley by improving services, streamlining procedures, and enhancing water management systems, which supports the development of high-value agricultural projects and contributes to the national economy.
Yassin described the memorandum as an important step toward strengthening public-private cooperation and creating a more supportive environment for agricultural investment. He also highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise and encouraging the use of modern technologies to improve productivity and competitiveness in the sector.
The agreement includes cooperation in improving water management services, facilitating agricultural investment procedures, sharing technical knowledge and expertise, and promoting modern irrigation techniques, all aimed at ensuring long-term sustainability in the agricultural sector and supporting national development goals.
