Awqaf Ministry Celebrates Completion of Quran Recitation Under Royal Initiative

Amman: Secretary-General of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ismail Al Khatba attended a ceremony marking the completion of a full Quran recitation as part of the initiative launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II.

According to Jordan News Agency, the royal initiative, implemented by the ministry in mosques across the Kingdom, aims to strengthen the religious and educational role of mosques. It encourages the regular recitation and completion of the Quran through organized study circles. Participants complete 12 full Quran recitations annually, achieving one complete recitation each month.

Under the program, participants recite one-quarter of a hizb after each of the five daily prayers. This schedule enables them to complete the entire Quran every month, with supervision from qualified mosque imams, preachers, muezzins, and instructors from Quranic learning centers.

Al Khatba emphasized that the initiative plays a crucial role in revitalizing the functions of mosques as centers of worship and education. It also strengthens people's connection with the Holy Quran and promotes the values of reflection and recitation among all segments of society.
