Princess Basma Hospital Performs First Vagus Nerve Stimulator Implant in Northern Region

Irbid: Princess Basma Teaching Hospital has successfully performed a vagus nerve stimulator implant for a patient with refractory epilepsy that does not respond to medication, marking the first procedure of its kind at Health Ministry hospitals in the northern region. The procedure signifies an advanced step in neurosurgery and highlights the progress the hospital has made in providing specialized medical services and complex surgical procedures, the hospital stated on Monday.

According to Jordan News Agency, the operation was conducted by a team from the Neurosurgery Department as part of efforts to expand access to advanced treatment services for patients in the northern region. Dr. Muhannad Zoubi, Head of the Neurosurgery Department, commended the medical team's efforts in ensuring the success of the procedure.
