Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, attended a significant ceremony on Wednesday at the Martyrs' Memorial. The event marked the Accession to the Throne Day, the anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt, and Army Day.
According to Jordan News Agency, His Majesty laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and recited verses from the Holy Quran as part of the commemoration. Accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, King Abdullah signed the guestbook, expressing his pride in the armed forces and security agencies for their constant dedication to protecting the Kingdom and preserving its achievements.
The ceremony also saw King Abdullah bestowing medals on distinguished military and security personnel, acknowledging their efforts and commitment to service. The event was attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Prince Rashid bin El Hassan, Prime Minister and Defence Minister Jafar Hassan, General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, and Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Maaytah.
