Labor Minister Outlines Plans to Double Female Economic Participation to 30%

Amman: Minister of Labor Khaled Bakkar stated that the ministry aims to increase female labor force participation in the productive process to 30 percent over the coming years.

According to Jordan News Agency, Bakkar added that this strategic move follows data showing that the current female participation rate stands at 15 percent. He emphasized that the ministry will actively work to double this figure in the future to empower women, enhance their capacity for achievement, and bolster their role in comprehensive and sustainable development.

He further explained that the ministry, in cooperation with relevant stakeholders, is working on establishing productive factory branches across various governorates and rural areas. In line with this initiative, Bakkar revealed that two new productive branches will be opened in the Hosha and Rehab municipalities within the Mafraq Governorate to create localized employment opportunities.
