Amman: The Jordan Chamber of Industry, in partnership with the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO), held an awareness session on Wednesday titled "Support Opportunities for Developing Industrial Facilities." The event was organized in cooperation with the "Innovative Ways to Support Employment through Private Sector Development" project, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply.
According to Jordan News Agency, the session aimed to increase awareness among industrial companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, regarding the services and programs available to support business development. Discussions focused on the role of conformity certificates in improving the quality of national products and ensuring compliance with international standards, thereby enhancing the industrial sector's competitiveness in both local and global markets.
Issam Bahloul, Assistant Director-General for Technical Affairs at the Chamber, stated that the session reflects the Chamber's commitment to networking and partnering with local and international entities. He emphasized that the industrial sector is the primary driver of the national economy, contributing directly and indirectly to economic growth.
During the meeting, GIZ representatives provided an overview of the "Innovative Ways" project, detailing its role in supporting companies through innovation and specialized technical assistance. They also clarified the application mechanisms for its training programs and services. For its part, JSMO delivered a presentation on its Conformity Certificates Directorate, outlining the procedures for obtaining certifications and meeting compliance requirements. The presentation included practical case studies of Jordanian industrial firms that improved their product quality and market standing through these services.
