Amman: The Southern Military Zone successfully intercepted a drone attempting to smuggle narcotics into the kingdom along its western border, the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army announced on Monday.
According to Jordan News Agency, border guard units detected the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and engaged it following established rules of engagement, effectively bringing down the craft within Jordanian territory. The operation was coordinated with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.
While the military did not disclose the specific quantity or type of drugs seized in the operation, it confirmed that the contraband had been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
