Amman: Senate's Jordanian-Azerbaijani Brotherhood Committee, chaired by Ghazi Muqaibil, met with Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Jordan, Shahin Abdullayev, to discuss ways to enhance and expand cooperation across various sectors, including parliamentary, economic, cultural, and tourism.
According to Jordan News Agency, Muqaibil highlighted the depth of bilateral relations, emphasizing mutual respect and understanding under the leadership of both countries. He reiterated Jordan's commitment to strengthening ties to serve mutual interests at both official and public levels, pointing to opportunities for boosting joint economic and investment cooperation, especially in energy, tourism, and trade.
Muqaibil called for effective partnerships and greater utilization of available investment environments to support economic development, urging continued coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern. He reaffirmed Jordan's firm stance on the Palestinian cause under the leadership of King Abdullah II and emphasized the Kingdom's efforts to promote regional security and stability through dialogue and diplomatic solutions.
Abdullayev expressed pride in the level of bilateral relations and their shared positions on key issues, commending Jordan's role in promoting regional stability. He affirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to expanding cooperation with Jordan, particularly in areas such as tourism, cultural exchange, food industries, and energy, to enhance economic integration and mutual interests.
Committee members advocated for sustained engagement between Amman and Baku, increased official and parliamentary exchanges, and joint efforts to build on such meetings to advance relations, mainly by boosting trade and broadening cooperation.
