Amman: The Lower House's Foreign Affairs Committee engaged in discussions on Wednesday with the European Union Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, aimed at enhancing the Jordanian-EU partnership across political, economic, and investment sectors. The meeting underscored the importance of reinforcing existing ties and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.
According to Jordan News Agency, the committee, led by MP Haitham Ziyadin, highlighted the essential support provided by the EU to Jordan. They emphasized the significance of attracting increased European investments, citing Jordan's strategic geopolitical location and stable business environment as key factors. Additionally, the committee called for the activation of joint trade agreements that had been previously signed by both parties.
The discussions included a review of Jordan's political, economic, and administrative reform initiatives, demonstrating the Kingdom's dedication to enhancing its political landscape and improving the investment climate. These efforts are aimed at boosting confidence in the national economy and drawing in foreign capital.
EU Ambassador Chatzisavas highlighted the strong relationships between Jordan and EU member states, referencing a recent summit in Jordan with EU leaders. The summit concentrated on areas such as foreign policy, defense and security, as well as investment and trade. He further emphasized the continuous diplomatic coordination on regional and international matters, pointing out the comprehensive strategic partnership and the genuine opportunities for increasing European investments in Jordan, given its stability and appealing economic environment.
