Water Minister Urges Enhancements in National Water Services

Amman: Minister of Water and Irrigation, Raed Abu Soud, emphasized the necessity to implement His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives for enhancing national services within the framework of the Economic Modernization Vision and the Water Sector Strategy. The minister highlighted the need for improvements in services provided to citizens across the country.

According to Jordan News Agency, the minister's comments were made during a virtual meeting with secretaries-general, directors of water companies, technicians, and all employees involved in the water sector. He advocated for simplifying procedures and delivering efficient services to citizens, as well as quickly resolving grievances submitted to the Water Complaints Center. He also stressed the importance of maintaining open communication channels to ensure the quality of water and sanitation services.

The minister advocated for the implementation of periodic surveys to identify and address malfunctions, ensuring a reliable water supply. He further emphasized the need for regular activation of collection teams to prevent the accumulation of outstanding payments from subscribers. Continuous coordination among relevant departments and local authorities was also highlighted as essential to effectively meet citizens' needs.

Abu Soud pointed out the ministry's ongoing efforts to secure new water sources and advance national projects. He called for spreading awareness on conserving water assets and using them appropriately for designated purposes. The ministry, he noted, is diligently working to ensure adequate water supplies for all subscribers, adhering to distribution schedules, and enhancing operational and maintenance efficiency in alignment with the Water Sector Strategy.

The minister encouraged citizens to cooperate with water sector teams and to report any observations or grievances to the unified complaints center hotline (117116).
