CSPD Issues 381,000 Digital Certificates Since E-Service Launch

Amman: The Civil Status and Passports Department (CSPD) has reported the issuance of approximately 381,000 digital certificates since the launch of its e-service in May, announced by the Director General, Ghaith Ghazi Tayeb. This digital initiative allows citizens to obtain certificates for vital events such as birth, marriage, divorce, death, and registration documents electronically.

According to Jordan News Agency, Tayeb made this announcement during his visit to the CSPD offices in Amman's Ashrafieh and Hay Nazzal areas. The visit was part of an effort to monitor the workflow and assess the quality of services provided to citizens. The digital certificates are available in a PDF format in both Arabic and English, facilitating access for citizens both inside and outside the Kingdom.

The e-service is a component of CSPD's broader digital transformation strategy aimed at improving access to services. Tayeb highlighted that these services are available 24/7, even on Fridays and official holidays, without any restrictions on working hours. This accessibility is expected to reduce pressure on Jordanian embassies and decrease congestion at CSPD offices nationwide.

Furthermore, Tayeb clarified that the digital certificates are free of additional charges and are accepted by all Jordanian governmental and private entities. He emphasized that this development is a critical step in enhancing service quality and institutional performance. Last year, the Ashrafieh and Hay Nazzal offices processed around 150,000 documents, reflecting the staff's efficiency and effort in serving citizens.
