435 Metal Waste Bins Distributed to Northern Municipalities in Jordan

Irbid: Irbid Environmental Protection Directorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, handed over 435 metal garbage containers to municipalities in the Kingdom's northern governorates of Irbid, Jerash, and Ajloun. The initiative aims to enhance efforts to preserve and protect the environment and reduce the phenomenon of indiscriminate waste disposal in forests, parks, tourist and archaeological sites, nature reserves, and public spaces.

According to Jordan News Agency, during the distribution campaign at Hassan Sports City, the directorate's chairman, Nizar Haddad, announced that 435 containers were distributed to the targeted northern governorates as part of a national campaign launched by the Ministry of Environment. Haddad noted that the Irbid municipalities received 235 bins, while the Jerash and Ajloun governorates equally received 100 containers.

Haddad further explained that this represents the first phase of the initiative in the northern region. It is part of a broader plan by the Ministry of Environment to distribute 1,250 containers gradually nationwide, aiming to combat the issue of indiscriminate dumping.
