Amman: The foreign ministers of several Arab and Islamic countries have expressed their approval for the invitation extended by US President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council. The nations involved include the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt. These countries have collectively announced their decision to join the Peace Council.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministers confirmed that each nation will proceed with signing the accession documents in accordance with its own legal and procedural requirements. This includes countries such as the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates, which had already declared their intention to join.
The ministers have reiterated their countries' backing for the peace initiatives spearheaded by President Trump. They have affirmed their commitment to supporting the Peace Council's mission as a transitional body, as outlined in a comprehensive plan adopted by UN Security Council Resolution 2803. This plan aims to establish a permanent ceasefire, facilitate the reconstruction of Gaza, and promote a fair and lasting peace based on the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their state in line with international law. The ultimate goal is to achieve security and stability for all countries and peoples in the region.
