Amman: The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) has formalized a partnership with the Human Development Fund to support the Arzaq 2026 Project. This initiative aims to bolster humanitarian and development efforts in Jordan and the Middle East and North Africa region, with an emphasis on sustainable economic empowerment.
According to Jordan News Agency, the project agreement includes training and empowering 180 women in the fields of sewing, cooking, and handicrafts. These vocational programs are designed to enhance skills, increase productive capacity, and create income-generating opportunities, ultimately improving living standards and family stability.
The Arzaq 2026 Project signifies a strategic transition for both organizations from providing short-term assistance to focusing on long-term, community-based development. Participants will receive production toolkits upon completing the program, enabling them to start small, home-based businesses and engage in independent economic activities.
The initiative also offers post-training support through access to the Dhai Showroom, a platform for showcasing and marketing products. This aspect of the project aims to strengthen market connections, promote local products, and support the sustainability of women-led businesses.
By integrating these components, JHCO and the Human Development Fund highlight their commitment to fostering economic and social empowerment, encouraging self-reliance, supporting vulnerable families, and contributing to more resilient and sustainable communities.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli stated that the agreement aligns with the organization's humanitarian approach, which emphasizes empowerment and opportunity creation. He noted that the Arzaq 2026 Project serves as a model of sustainable development, investing in individuals' productive potential by combining training with necessary tools and platforms, thus enhancing economic independence and improving family and community quality of life within a comprehensive social protection framework.
