Irbid: Director of the Irbid Labor Directorate Salem Bani Salameh said the number of job opportunities provided by the directorate's Employment and Vocational Guidance Department for residents of Irbid Governorate during the current year reached 3,952 private-sector jobs covered by social security.
According to Jordan News Agency, Bani Salameh stated that the directorate also provided job opportunities for 54 persons with disabilities and issued 1,575 certified certificates of experience. Additionally, the number of vocational guidance sessions held for various segments totaled 551. Furthermore, 67 new companies were registered on the National Employment Platform "Sajjil."
The directorate is focused on combating unemployment and enhancing economic development by providing job opportunities in light of the current economic conditions and challenges in the labor market. The directorate's team is actively working on implementing strategies that link job seekers with suitable employment opportunities and aims to establish partnerships with the private sector to open new avenues for employment.
Bani Salameh emphasized the directorate's role in implementing the Ministry of Labor's policies, regulating the labor market, and providing employment opportunities in coordination with the private sector and the Irbid Chamber of Industry. This includes organizing job fairs and conducting inspection tasks, managing labor relations, and following up on laws and regulations related to labor.
The Inspection and Safety Departments have carried out 12,583 inspection visits this year, issued 1,000 violations, and delivered 300 warnings to establishments. The "Hemayeh" platform resolved 955 complaints, and 511 contracts for Jordanian workers were certified. The directorate supervised 23,500 establishments and deported 374 workers of various nationalities for violating Article 12 of the Jordanian Labor Law.
