Media Minister Highlights Role of Youth in National Reform

Amman: Minister of Government Communication and Official Government Spokesman Mohammad Momani emphasized the crucial role of proactive youth as the “makers of change” at the core of Jordan’s national reform process. He underscored the significance of youth empowerment as advocated by HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, who supports initiatives aimed at promoting volunteer work and fostering a culture of giving and social responsibility.

According to Jordan News Agency, Momani remarked that Jordanian youth, well-versed in their history and values, possess a strong sense of confidence in both their country and themselves. He highlighted their proactive involvement in shaping the future during a meeting with the “Horizon of Change” initiative. The minister noted that youth-led initiatives have been effective in local development, with several becoming success stories at the governorate level.

Momani described volunteerism as a profound expression of citizenship that enhances a sense of belonging and contributes to positive societal change. He emphasized that volunteer work provides young people with opportunities to serve their community, acquire new skills, and develop themselves through participation in meaningful activities.

The minister also mentioned the Crown Prince’s announcement regarding the reactivation of the national military service program. This move aims to enhance the role of youth in nation-building, reflecting the confidence that His Majesty King Abdullah II and HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II have in Jordanian youth. Additionally, Momani urged young people to engage with positive content on social media while avoiding “negative and misleading” information, highlighting the importance of awareness and knowledge in countering rumors and hate speech.
