Lampedusa: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said on Wednesday that 20 migrants died after their boat capsized in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to Jordan News Agency, UNHCR spokesperson Filippo Ungaro posted on X that search efforts are ongoing for 17 missing individuals.
The boat, carrying 97 people, sank about 20 kilometers southwest of Lampedusa. Italian broadcaster Rai Radio reported that 60 migrants were rescued.
