Amman: The Jordanian-Emirati Parliamentary Committee, chaired by MP Ahmad Asha, convened with Hamad Al Matrooshi, the Charg© d’Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Jordan, to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly at the parliamentary level.
According to Jordan News Agency, Asha emphasized the longstanding ties between Jordan and the UAE under the leadership of King Abdullah II and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He highlighted the robust progress in relations across multiple sectors and identified agriculture and investment as potential areas for increased collaboration. Asha reiterated the committee’s dedication to facilitating Emirati investments and coordinating with the relevant authorities to remove any obstacles.
Al Matrooshi expressed his appreciation for the close ties between the two nations and affirmed the UAE’s commitment to expanding cooperation, especially in parliamentary and investment fields. He welcomed Jordanian investors and assured full support through a specialized economic team at the embassy. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of supporting Emirati investors in Jordan and expanding cooperation in agriculture, industry, and trade.
Committee members Naseem Abbadi, Ayman Badadweh, Abdul Nasser Khasawneh, and Ayman Abu Hanieh praised the current level of bilateral relations and emphasized the need to enhance joint investments, particularly in agriculture. They identified agriculture as a crucial pillar of regional food security.
Both parties concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to ongoing dialogue and coordination aimed at deepening the fraternal partnership and advancing shared interests.
