Arab Bank Initiative Plants 400 Oak Trees in Ajloun Forest Reserve

Ajloun: The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), in collaboration with Arab Bank, has successfully planted 400 oak trees in the Ajloun Forest Reserve as part of a community initiative under Arab Bank’s corporate social responsibility program, “Together.”

According to Jordan News Agency, the campaign involved the participation of Arab Bank volunteers and their families. The initiative aimed to enhance Jordan’s green cover and address the impacts of climate change on biodiversity and sustainability within the reserve. Activities conducted during the campaign included soil preparation, tree planting, watering, and land coordination.

RSCN Director General Fadi Nasser emphasized that the campaign promotes environmental awareness and encourages public involvement in nature preservation efforts across Jordan. He commended Arab Bank’s support, noting that such initiatives play a crucial role in safeguarding forest resources and elevating awareness about environmental conservation.

The Ajloun Forest Reserve, established in 1987, covers an area of 12 square kilometers in Jordan’s Mediterranean Highlands. It features winding valleys and elevations from 600 to 1,100 meters above sea level, hosting evergreen oak forests, which are integral to Jordan’s woodland ecosystem.

Arab Bank’s involvement reflects its commitment to sustainability, focusing on enhancing economic, social, and environmental impacts. The “Together” program supports initiatives in health, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, education, orphan care, and women’s empowerment.
