King Abdullah II Hosts Kurdistan Region President to Discuss Regional Cooperation

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II received President of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, at Al Husseiniya Palace. The meeting, which was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, focused on the strong ties between Jordan and Iraq and explored ways to enhance cooperation with the Kurdistan Region across various sectors.

According to Jordan News Agency, His Majesty emphasized the importance of increasing international and regional efforts to achieve comprehensive calm, aiming to bolster security and stability in the region. The discussions also covered recent developments in Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, and Lebanon, highlighting the need for concerted efforts to address these challenges.

President Barzani expressed his gratitude for Jordan’s ongoing support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Iraq’s Ambassador to Jordan Omer Berzinji, and members of President Barzani’s delegation.
