Arab Group at UN Condemns Israel’s Violation of Gaza Ceasefire

New York: Jordan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Mahmoud Hmoud, issued a statement on behalf of the Arab Group condemning Israel’s violation of the ceasefire agreement and its renewed aggression against Gaza. Speaking before the Security Council, Hmoud referenced the Arab League summit in Cairo earlier this month, which reaffirmed the League’s firm rejection of attempts to displace Palestinians from occupied Palestinian Territories.

According to Jordan News Agency, Hmoud highlighted the approval of an early recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza presented by Egypt. He described the initiative as a comprehensive Arab plan, rooted in collaborative Egyptian-Palestinian efforts, aimed at organizing an international conference on recovery and reconstruction in Gaza in partnership with the United Nations.

He denounced the escalation in the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, marked by repeated military incursions by Israeli forces into Palestinian towns, the displacement of residents, and the demolition of homes. Hmoud urged the Security Council and the international community to take action to address the Israeli violations.
