PSD Implements Comprehensive Security and Traffic Plan for Ramadan

Amman: The Public Security Directorate (PSD) continues to implement its security and traffic plan to provide public safety services, raise awareness, and enforce regulations against dangerous violations throughout Ramadan, in line with the holy month’s special nature. The PSD has also provided logistical and operational support to the Civil Defense Department (CDD) to enhance its readiness and enable it to deliver top-quality humanitarian services to those in need during the holy month.

According to Jordan News Agency, a special traffic plan is being enforced to manage changing road conditions, particularly the increased congestion caused by the simultaneous movement of vehicles at the start and end of work hours, as well as heightened activity in commercial markets as citizens stock up on necessities. The plan aims to maintain smooth traffic flow as much as possible and prevent violations that obstruct movement, such as double parking and other infractions that disrupt traffic.

The PSD has also strengthened its field presence by deploying uniformed and plainclothes patrols in commercial districts and markets to enhance security and assist the public. The directorate outlined that the plan includes a range of community and humanitarian initiatives that promote solidarity during Ramadan. These include distributing meals, water, and dates, organizing community iftars, and providing other forms of assistance.

Additionally, awareness campaigns are being carried out to prevent accidents and hazards, such as those caused by improper heater use or traffic violations. The PSD urged the public to cooperate with traffic officers and patrols, avoid violations that disrupt traffic, and adopt a responsible driving culture based on respecting traffic rules and the rights of others. It also encouraged citizens to plan their travel times and routes carefully to avoid congestion and peak hours.
