King Abdullah II Attends Iftar at Army Command and Inaugurates Military Documentation Centre

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), along with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, participated in an iftar hosted by the General Command of JAF on Monday. The event was marked by significant interactions with military personnel and the inauguration of a new military facility.

According to Jordan News Agency, before the iftar, King Abdullah II, accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, officially opened the Military Media Directorate’s Military Documentation Centre. This facility is a repository for thousands of documents related to JAF’s history, including their engagements in battles, peacekeeping missions, and counter-terrorism efforts.

During the visit, King Abdullah II received a comprehensive overview of the centre’s functions and its archival sections. The briefing highlighted the centre’s role in preserving the military’s historical records and contributions to international and national security efforts.

In addition to the inauguration ceremony, the King and the attendees observed the maghreb prayer together. His Majesty took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to all members of the army and security agencies on the occasion of Ramadan and the 69th anniversary of the Arabisation of JAF’s leadership. He expressed his admiration for their unwavering dedication and discipline.

The iftar was attended by several high-ranking officials, including General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Maaytah, as well as other army and security agency personnel.
