Agreements Inked to Boost Agricultural Industries in Jordanian Municipalities

Amman: Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat signed a series of agreements with the municipalities of Al-Junaid in Ajloun, Al-Sarhan in Mafraq, and Leib and Mleih in Madaba to advance agricultural industries in Jordanian industrial estates. The initiative aims to stimulate local production and provide job opportunities in these regions.

According to Jordan News Agency, the agreements will support the establishment of food factories in the targeted municipalities, focusing on the production of agricultural foodstuffs. This move is expected to bolster local food production and address issues related to poverty and unemployment by creating new job opportunities.

During the signing ceremony, Minister Hneifat emphasized the ministry’s commitment to the Economic Modernization Vision, the National Plan for Sustainable Agriculture, and the investment axis in agricultural food industries. He encouraged investors in Jordan’s agricultural sector to leverage these projects to create employment opportunities and manage surplus agricultural production.

Hneifat highlighted that the projects are designed to benefit industrial and development zones, as well as municipalities in the Kingdom’s governorates and rural areas, further promoting economic growth and sustainability in these communities.
