Petra: The Jordan News Agency (Petra) and Yarmouk University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in training opportunities and the preparation of scientific competencies. The agreement was finalized at Yarmouk University, marking a significant step toward strengthening academic and practical ties between the two institutions.
According to Jordan News Agency, the MoU was signed by Petra Director-General Fayrouz Mubaidin and Musa Al-Rababa’a, the University Vice President for Academic Affairs. Mubaidin praised Yarmouk University’s distinguished academic reputation, particularly highlighting the Faculty of Media as a leading Arab institution that has consistently produced successful media professionals for various Jordanian, Arab, and international media organizations.
Mubaidin expressed the agency’s commitment to continuing its partnership with Yarmouk University by offering training and educational opportunities to students in the Faculty of Media. This includes organizin
g seminars and specialized training programs focused on field journalism, aiming to equip students with practical skills and experiences.
Al-Rababa’a reiterated Yarmouk University’s ongoing efforts to build and expand its relationships with leading national organizations across different sectors, especially in the media field. He stressed the importance of media in today’s rapidly advancing world and the critical role of the National Agency in disseminating accurate and factual news that represents Jordan’s message globally.
The MoU aligns with Yarmouk University’s strategic goal to enhance field media skills among its College of Media students. It aims to provide them with the necessary competencies to convey the national message with professionalism and credibility. The agreement includes initiatives such as offering students training in journalism, publishing journalistic works that meet professional standards, and providing access to Petra’s archive services.
Additionally, the MoU plans to offer ten tr
aining opportunities for Petra’s staff at the Queen Rania Center for Jordanian Studies at Yarmouk University. These training programs will cover areas such as English language, radio and television editing, photography, and communication skills, benefiting both the agency and the university’s educational objectives.
