These relations reaffirm the mutual political will to continue enhancing the bonds of friendship, partnership and cooperation between the two friendly countries.
In this context, the newspaper referred to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s meeting on Monday with HE Speaker of the House of Commons of the British Parliament Lindsay Hoyle, on the occasion of his visit to the country. The meeting touched on the friendly and strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom, and ways to enhance and develop them. Commenting on another topic, Al-Arab newspaper said in its editorial titled “New Technologies in Construction,” that the ConteQ Expo 2024 which kicked off in Doha yesterday highlights the progress the country has achieved in the field of construction and building. This is evident in the introduction of new technolog
ies and construction methods that have reduced the time required to complete building projects by 60%, while significantly decreasing reliance on unskilled labor.
The government pavilions participating in the exhibition, such as the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) pavilion, showcase the latest construction technologies and Qatari innovations in the field. One example is the innovation by Ashghal engineer Badr Al-Darwish, who developed a new method for road construction that earned a patent. Additionally, the exhibition highlights the use of 3D concrete printing, which constructs an entire building with all its details using a concrete printer. This method minimizes material waste, reduces costs, and shortens project timelines. Another innovative approach is modular construction, where building components such as rooms are manufactured in factories and then assembled on-site, resulting in a fully integrated structure tailored for its intended use.
Amidst this progress and development in the construction sec
tor, Qatar has not overlooked the safety and security measures for workers on various projects. The Public Works Authority has implemented an AI-based monitoring system for different projects, which provides early warnings when working conditions are unsuitable for workers, such as high temperatures or deficiencies in safety systems and other issues, Al-Arab concluded.
