In local affairs, Al-Raya newspaper said that the State of Qatar is a pioneer in guaranteeing the right to health, as stipulated in the permanent constitution, mandating the State to care for public health and provide means of prevention and treatment of diseases and epidemics.

The newspaper noted that Qatar’s health sector has seen multiple qualitative leaps, placing the country among the leading nations globally in providing comprehensive healthcare that rivals world-class systems both in the private and public sectors.

The State of Qatar has prioritized health through the promotion of health and sustainable development, translating this into strategic initiatives and policies, which have gained global trust as the health system focuses on the importance of universal health coverage for everyone, the paper added.

Al-Raya pointed out that over the past years, the country has built a high-level health system in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. To achieve sustainability, Qatar has recently expanded its
health facilities and implemented several health-related projects, enhancing the level of health services provided, thanks to the directives of the country’s wise leadership.

In this context, the paper highlighted that Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has recently provided the latest prosthetics in its newly expanded department, now located at the Medical Care and Research Center, which can now accommodate more patients.

The new department includes a large laboratory and laboratory for manufacturing prosthetics and orthotic devices, as well as separate outpatient clinics, which assess cases and develop necessary treatment plans, including training operations and fitting prosthetics, ensuring privacy for patients and their families, the paper continued.

Al-Raya concluded by saying that Qatar also focuses on encouraging investments in the private health sector, which has seen a qualitative leap. By the end of 2023, the number of private health facilities reached 10 hospitals, 21 day-surgery centers, 417 gener
al and specialized health centers, including dental centers, and 319 diagnostic centers, including medical laboratories.

On the other hand, in Arab affairs, the English-language newspaper The Peninsula denounced the ongoing massacres targeting children, women, and innocent civilians in Gaza, noting that the complete inaction to stop the Israeli war highlights the double standards of the world powers that have a different set of policies when it comes to conflicts in Ukraine and other parts of the world.

The newspaper said under the title, “World Must Act to Stop War in Gaza,” an Israeli airstrike killed at least 90 at the Al Mawasi humanitarian zone in Gaza on Saturday despite the Israeli army repeatedly urging Palestinians to head to it after issuing evacuation orders from other areas.

Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the attack by Israeli forces targeting the tents of the displaced in the Al Mawasi. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the repeated heinous crimes of the Occupation Forces, und
erscoring the urgent need for immediate international action to end the Israeli aggression and provide protection to Palestinians. The Ministry warned that Israels disregard for Palestinian lives and its repeated attempts to strip them of their rights guaranteed by international law will undermine global efforts aimed at implementing the two-state solution, thereby expanding the cycle of violence in the region and threatening international peace and security, the paper added.

The Peninsula concluded its editorial by noting that Qatar is playing a leading role in the ceasefire in Gaza as talks are underway in Doha and Cairo.
