This policy serves as an effective tool for conflict prevention within Qatar’s relentless pursuit of maintaining international peace and security.

On the local front, the newspapers emphasized the multiple qualitative leaps in the State of Qatar’s healthcare sector, with the country now being ranked globally among the advanced countries in providing comprehensive healthcare that rivals global systems. This care is available in both the private and public sectors.

Internationally, the newspapers condemned the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump during an election rally in Pennsylvania. They noted the State of Qatar’s condemnation of the attempt in a statement issued by the Ministry of For
eign Affairs, emphasizing the importance of adopting dialogue and peaceful means, avoiding political violence and hatred to overcome disagreements at all levels.

Under the headline “Good Efforts,” Al-Watan newspaper said that the State of Qatar adopts an independent, neutral, and flexible policy based on dialogue, preventive diplomacy, mediation, good offices, and the peaceful settlement of disputes. These are effective tools for preventing conflicts within Qatar’s continuous effort to maintain international peace and security.

The State of Qatar has achieved many successes since it began its good offices mediation, most notably its mediation between the United States and the Afghan Taliban, which resulted in the signing of the Doha Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan, the paper said, pointing out that today, Qatar plays a pivotal role in achieving an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of prisoners and detainees, based on the United Nations Charter and international law principles.

Qatar h
as also been mediating in numerous regional and international disputes for at least two decades. It has made strenuous efforts to mediate between countries, factions, entities, and conflicting parties from different political and ethnic backgrounds. Qatar has sought to contain many of these conflicts at the request of the concerned parties without interfering in the sovereignty of states and their internal affairs. Qatari mediation also aims to bring perspectives closer together, achieve reconciliation, and establish the foundations for a peaceful political settlement to reach common ground and sustainable and effective solutions for the conflicting parties, the paper added.

Qatar is continuing its efforts to stop the war in Gaza and to release prisoners, out of its deep belief in the necessity and importance of sparing civilians from the consequences of armed conflicts. It also works closely with its partners in Egypt and the United States, with hopes that these good efforts will lead to real breakthroughs,
Al-Watan concluded.

In international affairs, Al-Sharq daily said that the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump during an election rally in Pennsylvania has sparked widespread condemnation and numerous denunciations around the world, as many countries and leaders have expressed their condemnation of this act, denouncing political violence.

Under the headline “Attempted Assassination of Trump,” the paper explained that stemming from its firm stance against violence and criminal acts, including political assassinations regardless of the motives and reasons, the State of Qatar condemned the assassination attempt in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and expressed its wishes for HE President Donald Trump’s health and safety. It also emphasized the importance of adopting dialogue and peaceful means and avoiding political violence and hatred to overcome disagreements at all levels, the paper added.

The newspaper noted that this incident was not an exception, as the United
States has been facing the largest and most persistent increase in politically motivated violence since the 1970s. Attackers have carried out 14 political attacks causing deaths or injuries since January 2021. The United States has previously witnessed numerous similar acts of political violence, including the assassination of President John Kennedy in 1963. Several presidents have also survived assassination attempts, including President Ronald Reagan in 1981.

Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the global condemnations of this criminal act, which occurred amid the US presidential election campaign and its intense polarization, reflect international concerns about the implications of such violence on the American elections and global stability, pointing out the these acts underscore the need for more serious and stringent measures from the international community to confront all forms of hatred and violence wherever they occur, and regardless of their causes, as they are contrary to all human pr
inciples and values.
