Irbid: Spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor, Mohammad Zyoud, said the Irbid Labor Directorate has received 504 labor-related complaints since the beginning of this year. Zyoud announced these cases were handled in accordance with applicable legal procedures, aimed at protecting the rights of all parties involved in the employment process.
According to Jordan News Agency, Zyoud noted the ministry's inspection teams have conducted 6,240 inspection visits since the beginning of the year, covering 2,306 economic establishments across various sectors in the northern Irbid governorate. During these visits, Zyoud said 359 violations were recorded against establishments found to be in non-compliance with the provisions of the Labor Law.
He noted the ministry receives complaints electronically through the "Himaya" (protection) platform. As for the settlement procedures, he said each case is reviewed, and the relevant parties are contacted to resolve it amicably, citing visits as a solution to settle disputes in other cases.
Zyoud stated most complaints sent to the "Himaya" platform dealt with non-payment or delayed wage payment, claims for workers' benefits, violations of working hours and leave, while other grievances addressed the application of labor law provisions. He said the key violations detected during inspection tours include non-compliance with occupational safety and health requirements, and non-payment or delayed wage payment.
