33 Stores Fined in Mafraq Since Ramadan Beginning

Mafraq: The market monitoring committees in Mafraq governorate have fined 33 stores since the beginning of Ramadan for failing to implement health and food safety requirements.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement Tuesday, Mafraq Governor, Firas Abu Ghanem, said the detected violations do not endanger citizens’ health and are related to storage procedures and the display of food products on sidewalks. The governor added that “all high-quality food supplies are available and their prices align with the purchasing power of citizens.”

Ahead of Ramadan, Abu Ghanem stated Mafraq’s Executive Council decided to unify efforts of the joint monitoring committees during the holy month, aimed at preserving public health and safety without violations from any party. Abu Ghanem remarked the joint committees carry out daily field tours on markets in the governorate’s districts to ensure compliance with health requirements.
