300 surgeries at newly-opened Al Iman Public Hospital, says director

Amman, Doctors at Al Iman Government Hospital in Ajloun Governorate have performed 300 surgeries since the opening of its new premises a month ago.

They included gastrointestinal, ear and bone surgeries, calling the operations “a quantum leap” in services offered by public hospitals, said the hospital’s director Mohamad Freihat.

He said the health facility receives 400-450 patients daily, and that it is moving forward to conduct all kinds of surgeries through providing new equipment and medical staff to accommodate a growing number of patients and offer best services.

Freihat said new digestive tract and forensic medicine clinics have opened and a thoracic internal medicine clinic will open next week, part of the hospital’s expansion plans.

Local people in Ajloun governorate have urged acceleration of the third phase of the hospital project, including the demolition of the old building for parking space to ease overcrowding.
