26 coronavirus deaths, 855 cases recorded in Jordan Tuesday

COVID-19 claimed the lives of 26 people in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 9,151, while 855 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to 721,853, according to the Ministry of Health.

Breaking down Tuesday’s tally, the ministry said that 237 cases were recorded in Amman, 223 in Irbid, 92 in Zarqa, 51 in Mafraq, 53 in Balqa, 44 in Karak, 26 in Ajloun, 24 in Maan, 37 in Tafilah, 30 in Jerash, 13 in Aqaba and 25 in Madaba.

The Ministry of Health said in a press statement that 104 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 84 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 859.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stood at 5,400, it added. More than 1,910 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered.

Around 4.33 percent of the 19,732 COVID-19 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours came back positive compared with 5.54 percent Monday.
