Cairo: His Majesty King Abdullah II, Egypt President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi, and France President Emmanuel Macron held a joint phone call with US President Donald Trump on Monday. During the call, held on the margins of the trilateral summit in Cairo, the three leaders discussed with President Trump ways to urgently secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

According to Jordan News Agency, the three leaders underlined the need to immediately resume full access for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the release of all the hostages and detainees. They also emphasized the need to create conducive conditions for a political horizon and mobilize international efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, restore security and peace for all, and implement the two-state solution.

The leaders agreed to remain in close coordination to address these urgent issues. Additionally, the phone call also covered the importance of accelerating peace efforts in Ukraine, consistent with international security and stability.

Berlin: The German government on Monday called for an immediate investigation into the deaths of medics and aid workers who were killed in Israeli airstrikes while on duty in Gaza.

According to Jordan News Agency, a spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry stated that a video released by the Palestinian Red Crescent over the weekend which contradicts the Israeli narrative was “truly shocking” and underscores the need for urgent clarification.

Germany’s call for transparency adds to growing international pressure on Israel to account for attacks on humanitarian personnel, particularly amid increasing concerns over targeting of aid convoys and medical teams during the ongoing conflict.

Moscow: Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Monday that President Vladimir Putin supports efforts toward a ceasefire in Ukraine, but emphasized that achieving such an outcome requires addressing key underlying issues that continue to hinder a comprehensive resolution.

According to Jordan News Agency, Peskov, during a press briefing, stated, “The Kremlin does not reject dialogue,” but insisted that any agreement must reflect the current realities on the ground and Russia’s national interests. He added that diplomatic avenues remain open, signaling Moscow’s continued readiness to engage under certain conditions.

His remarks come amid renewed calls from international actors for a negotiated settlement to end the prolonged conflict.

Brussels: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced Monday that the European Union has proposed a full, mutual exemption from tariffs on industrial goods in ongoing talks with the United States. Khan Younis: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the Israeli military strike on a journalists’ tent in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, which resulted in the death of a journalist and the injury of several media professionals.

According to Jordan News Agency, the OIC described the attack as a flagrant violation of press freedom and an extension of Israel’s efforts to suppress the truth, silence voices, and conceal its crimes from the international community. The organization held Israel fully responsible for the deaths of over 210 journalists and media workers since the beginning of what it described as the “genocidal campaign” in Gaza. It renewed its call on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to proceed with investigations into Israel’s violations.

The OIC also urged international organizations, particularly UNESCO, to take necessary measures to pursue perpetrators and ensure protections for journalists working in the occupied Palestinian territories under international humanitarian law and relevant global conventions.

The Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ) also condemned the continued targeting of Palestinian journalists by Israeli forces, stating that the attacks are deliberate due to journalists’ efforts to expose Israeli violations. Balqa: Chairman of the Balqa Governorate Council, Ibrahim Awamleh, met on Monday with members of the Community Security Council to discuss the role of the local council in promoting community security and enhancing coordination with official institutions to address security and social issues.
