14 Covid-19 deaths, 6,520 cases recorded Tuesday

Fourteen coronavirus deaths and 6,520 cases were registered in the Kingdom Tuesday, bringing the pandemic’s death toll to 13,849 and the caseload to 1,638,228, according to the Health Ministry.

About 19.42 per cent of some 33,572 PCR tests collected today came back positive, it said in its daily media brief, adding that currently active Covid-19 cases stood at 77,950 with 122 admitted to hospitals today, bringing total hospitalizations to 694. Some 126 cases left hospitals today, it said.

On hospitals’ capacity countrywide, the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 11%, intensive care beds 27% and respirators 8%, it pointed out.

In the central region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 16%, ICU wards 30% and respirators 14%, the ministry said.

In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 8%, intensive care beds 20% and respirators 13%, the figures showed.

Also according to the daily brief, 10,085 Covid-19 patients have recovered, raising total recoveries expected after the end of the isolation period to 1,546,429.

On immunizations, the ministry’s daily figures showed that the number of people who got the first dose of the coronavirus vaccines climbed to 4,687,245 and those who were double-jabbed rose to 4,376,285.
