1 Million Visitors Experience Ajloun Cable Car Since Launch

Amman: Over one million visitors have experienced the Ajloun cable car since its launch, highlighting the significant role this project plays in boosting tourism in the northwestern governorate. This achievement was announced by Sakher Ajlouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group.

According to Jordan News Agency, Ajlouni emphasized that this milestone is the result of extensive efforts in operation, maintenance, and development, complemented by the natural scenery of Ajloun that enhances the unique experience of the cable car ride. During a meeting with a team from Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group, the Austrian company responsible for manufacturing and maintaining the cable car, Ajlouni highlighted the importance of regular maintenance as part of the safety system prioritized by the group in all development zones.

Ajlouni explained that the collaboration with Doppelmayr/Garaventa ensures that the cable car system undergoes thorough testing by international experts. Additionally, a skilled Jordanian staff works alongside the Austrian team to improve the quality of operations and boost efficiency. The group also focuses on training, with programs conducted weekly in partnership with Gamesystem, to prepare operational teams for emergencies through vertical rappelling and safe evacuation exercises.

Tariq Al-Ma’aytah, Director of the Ajloun Development Zone, stated that maintenance is performed in accordance with international standards four to five times annually. This maintenance includes inspecting cables, stations, transmission units, safety systems, and cabins. Al-Ma’aytah noted that a cable car can only depart once every component has been thoroughly checked and deemed ready for operation.
