Amman: The Zarqa Awqaf Directorate hosted a graduation ceremony on Wednesday at the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce for students from the Prince El Hassan Mosque's Quran Center in the Al-Ghuwayriyah area, under the patronage of Deputy Governor of Zarqa Khalid Al-Qudah. According to Jordan News Agency, Director of the Zarqa Awqaf Directorate Ahmad Al-Harahsheh stated that Quran centers serve as educational beacons that promote Islamic values and Quran memorization. He noted that the Zarqa Governorate hosts more than 200 Quran centers welcoming students across various recitation and memorization programs.
Al-Harahsheh highlighted that the ceremony recognized 80 students across different age groups who completed full memorization, passed recitation stages, or earned formal Quranic recitation certifications (Ijazah). Cash and in-kind prizes were distributed to the graduates, with the top-performing student awarded an Umrah trip in recognition of his distinction.
Supervisor of the Quran Center at Prince El Hassan Mosque, Sheikh Ashraf Al-Daraghmeh, affirmed the center's commitment to continuing its recitation circles and educational programs. He praised the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs for supporting local Quran centers.
The ceremony was attended by President of the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce Hussein Shreim, Chairman of the Zarqa Governorate Council Jamal Abu Eid, and Head of the Preaching and Guidance Section at the Zarqa Awqaf Directorate Raed Al-Shawabkeh.
