Amman: Minister of Youth Raed Adwan said the ministry is continuing to implement its plan to activate youth centers through three key pillars: upgrading youth and sports infrastructure to provide safe and youth-friendly spaces, enhancing training programs offered by the centers to meet the needs and aspirations of young people, and empowering youth workers.
According to Jordan News Agency, while speaking during a visit to the Naour Youth Center in Amman, which was also attended by Amman Youth Directorate Director Thamer Al-Nsour and Naour District Administrator Shadi Al-Bakhit, Adwan engaged with community members, including heads and representatives of clubs and civil society institutions.
He emphasized the ministry's commitment to ensuring the sustainability of existing youth and sports facilities and developing new ones. This effort is part of a meticulously planned strategy that addresses the condition and needs of facilities in each governorate. Moreover, the ministry supports club plans and programs aligned with regulations focused on youth empowerment and service to local communities.
During his visit, Adwan inspected the renovation and rehabilitation work at the center. This included comprehensive maintenance of the building, refurbishment of training halls, external facilities, and a five-a-side football pitch covering 1,000 square meters, along with the installation of modern lighting. Enhancements were also made to indoor and outdoor facilities, and new air-conditioning units were installed.
Adwan also explored the fitness hall and a computer laboratory, which is equipped with 12 computers, internet services, and interactive screens. He reviewed vocational training workshops in sewing and beauty services, designed to develop the skills of young men and women and prepare them for the labor market.
During the tour, members of the center enrolled in the ministry's taekwondo program, conducted in collaboration with the Jordan Taekwondo Federation, performed a sports demonstration to showcase the skills they have gained since the training course began.
