Youth minister walks in “No to Drugs” march

Youth Minister Mohammad Nabulsi joined the “No to Drugs, Yes to Life” march, organized by the Zarqa Youth Department and the Public Security Directorate as part of the national program for security and youth.

The march aimed to highlight the dangers of the spread of drugs, raise awareness among young people and the local community about their health and economic risks to the individual and society, and contribute to the national effort to fight drug abuse, according to a press release by the ministry.

Nabulsi emphasized in remarks that the security and youth program complements the national youth strategy regarding security, social peace and youth and active citizenship, as it aims to spread security awareness among them and protect them from crime, violence, drugs and wrong behaviors.

The program enhances the positive participation of young people to build society and a generation of young people with a high sense of national responsibility that is capable to actively participate in achieving security and social peace, said the statement.

As part of the march, participants were briefed on an exhibition organized by the Anti-Narcotics Department, which showed the types of drugs and their classification with the aim of introducing the public to them in order to be able to distinguish them and know their risks.

Representatives of official institutions, members of youth centers, clubs and civil society institutions in Zarqa governorate also joined the march.
