Youth-focused project qualifies 6,500 for labor market

The Youth Participation and Employment Project has qualified 6,500 beneficiaries for the labor market since 2019, through a set of programs and activities, to enhance necessary life, functional and technical skills.

The project, implemented through the Injaz Foundation’s Work Readiness program in partnership with Oxfam, is funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs under an Arab-Danish Partnership Program, the foundation said in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, the specialized training introduces youth to job opportunities available in the national market and offers training opportunities that integrate them into the work environment and build their future experiences, or establish their own businesses, in addition to increasing the capabilities of business owners, institutions and society by supporting the youth group.

The project links young men and women with various education and training opportunities in the labor market, and introduces them to financial, social, employment and entrepreneurship skills.

Other than Injaz and Oxfam, other foundations are involved in the project including the King Hussein Foundation, the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development, the Leaders For Tomorrow Foundation, and the Phenix Center for Economics and Informatics Studies.

The project targets Jordanian and Syrian youth in between the ages of 18-35 years, in the governorates of Karak, Tafileh, Balqa and Madaba, which are have limited job opportunities and lack of youth community participation.

Oxfam, the statement added, is working with its partners to overcome obstacles of economic development, focusing on the population affected by conflicts and wars and the most vulnerable groups in society, while the role of Injaz is to increase young people’s job readiness as well as offer employment and training opportunities.
