Irbid: The Faculty of Educational Sciences at Yarmouk University participated in the launch of the Circular and Return Migration Management project. This initiative, organized by the University of Krems in Austria in collaboration with the Munich Dialogue Forum, is funded by the European Union.
According to Jordan News Agency, the university released a statement on Thursday highlighting that Fawaz Momani, a faculty member, contributed specialized lectures during the launch event. His lectures focused on the psychological and social impacts experienced by refugees, particularly Syrians, before their displacement, as well as the mental health disorders they endure.
Momani offered a detailed overview of the number of Syrian refugees returning from various regions, including European Union countries, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt, and Lebanon. He explored scenarios of voluntary return, incentives encouraging refugees to return, and challenges impeding the process. Furthermore, he reviewed United Nations reports that address the trends of Syrian refugees in Europe and the Middle East concerning their return post-regime collapse.
